The crushing season 2025–26 of Budhewal Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd. commenced on 29 November 2025 and the mill is currently operating at its full crushing capacity. This was stated by Mr. Gurvinder Singh, General Manager, Cooperative Sugar Mill, Budhewal, while addressing the press.
He said that the smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the mill has brought relief and happiness to sugarcane farmers of the mill area, as their cane is being crushed on a priority basis. This timely crushing is enabling farmers to vacate their fields promptly and prepare for sowing the next crop without any delay.
Mr. Gurvinder Singh further informed that an amount of approximately two crore towards payment for sugarcane purchased by the mill up to 4 December 2025 has already been credited directly into the bank accounts of the landowners. He assured the farmer brothers that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure timely payment for sugarcane procured during the entire crushing season 2025–26, and all payments will continue to be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts without delay.
Appealing to the sugarcane growers, the General Manager urged them to cooperate fully by supplying clean, fresh and bagasse-free sugarcane strictly as per the sugarcane slips issued during the current crushing season, so that the mill can achieve better recovery and overall performanceIn conclusion, Mr. Gurvinder Singh appealed to all farmer brothers to supply maximum sugarcane to the cooperative sugar mill, emphasizing that the cooperative sugar mill is their own mill and its progress directly benefits the farming community.
