Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2024-Block-level games start in Ludhiana

The block-level games under the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2024 started on Tuesday. The purpose of this sports event is to encourage youth participation in sports. The scheduled events will take place till September 11, and participants will compete in various sports including Athletics, Football, National Kabbadi, Circle Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball Smashing and Volleyball Shooting.

From September 3 to 5, the games will be held at Naresh Chandar Stadium Khanna, Sports Stadium, Sidhwan Bet, G.H.G. Khalsa College in Sudhar, and Sant Santokh Singh Marding Sports Stadium in Village Duley. From September 5 to 7, the venues will be Government Senior Secondary School in Village Siarh, Sports Stadium in Village Bhammipura near Grain Market, Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Machhiwara, Sports Stadium in Village Latala, and Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana. Similarly, from September 9 to 11, the games will take place at Government Senior Secondary School in Sahnewal, Sports Stadium in Kila Raipur, Sant Ishar Singh Ji Stadium in Village Ghalauti, Sports Stadium in Village Raikot, and Government Senior Secondary School in Samrala.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney mentioned that the district administration has made adequate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the sports extravaganza, including transportation, accommodation, refreshments, and security. Sawhney also encouraged people to participate in sports for a healthy society, stating that these games will provide a platform for budding players to shine in their future careers.

Today, SDM Deepak Bhatia along with District Sports Officer Kuldeep Chugh and others inaugurated the games  at the Santokh Singh Marding Sports Stadium in Village Duley.

AGE GROUPS

Athletics: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40), U-(41-50), U-(51-60), U-(61-70 and above 70 years

Football: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40)

Kabbadi National: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40)

Kabbadi Circle: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40)

Kho-Kho: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40)

Volleyball Smashing: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40), U-(41-50), U-(51-60), U-(61-70 and above 70 years.

Volleyball Shooting: U-14, U-17, U-21, U-(21-30), U-(31-40), U-(41-50), U-(51-60), U-(61-70 and above 70 years.
