MY Bharat Chandigarh, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, successfully concluded the five-day Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) “SAKSHAM ELP – 2026” at Asha Kiran, Sector 46, Chandigarh.
During the programme, MY Bharat volunteers organized yoga sessions, drawing, painting, and various creative and recreational activities for specially-abled children and senior citizens. These activities helped enhance the participants’ confidence, positivity, and social engagement, while also providing volunteers with practical exposure to the values of service, sensitivity, and inclusion.
The volunteers spent meaningful time with specially-abled children and senior citizens, gaining inspiration from their life experiences, resilience, determination, and positive outlook towards life.
On this occasion, Mr. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, stated that such programmes help nurture social responsibility, leadership qualities, and a spirit of service among youth, motivating them to actively contribute towards nation-building.
He expressed his gratitude to the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, the Resident Manager of Asha Kiran, the entire staff of the institution, and MY Bharat volunteers Sarika, Akanksha, Pushpa, Pragati, and Ritik for their valuable support in the successful organization of the programme.
