The Department of Natural Products, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, in collaboration with the Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE), Kolkata, India, is jointly organizing the 13th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFEC-ICTRE 2026) and International Conference on Translational Research in Ethnopharmacology – Integrating Traditional Medicine in Modern Healthcare from February 26–28, 2026, at the NIPER-Mohali, Punjab.

The conference theme, AI & Ethnopharmacology in Translational Research aims to bridge ancient traditional knowledge systems with modern scientific advancements and emerging technologies.

The three-day international congress is being attended by more than 500 delegates, including eminent international and national speakers from more than 10 countries of Europe and South East Asia, resource persons, scientists, academicians, traditional healers, policymakers, regulatory experts, industry leaders, AYUSH experts, start-ups, research scholars, and students. Thus, making it one of the largest gatherings in the field of ethnopharmacology in the region, as informed by Prof. Sanjay Jachak, Organizing Secretary and senior Professor at NIPER. He further mentioned Key Highlights of the Congress that includes Academia–Industry Interaction Program, Traditional Healers’ Conclave, AYUSH Symposium, AI & Systems Ethnopharmacology Sessions, Technical Workshops and Panel discussion

The scientific deliberations will cover cutting-edge and interdisciplinary themes, including metabolomics-based approaches, network pharmacology, gut microbiota in health and disease, bioprospecting of natural products, nutraceuticals and phytopharmaceuticals, medicinal chemistry of natural products, regulatory affairs, sustainable technologies in herbal drug development, formulation development, and translational drug discovery.

Major Herbal and Nutraceutical Industries such as Himalaya Wellness Company, Patanjali Research Foundation, Sami-Sabinsa Group, Pharmanza Herbals Pvt. Ltd., Natural Remedies Pvt. Ltd., Emami Healthcare and others have expressed great interest in this international conference.

Elsevier, a globally renowned academic publishing and scientific information analytics company, known for publishing leading peer-reviewed journals and advancing research dissemination worldwide also showed keen interest to join this conference. Prof. Pulok K Mukherjee, founder SFE and Professor, Jadavpur University, Kolkata informed that a special Symposium on Systems Ethnopharmacology and Sustainable Bioresources, an official scientific journal of SFE, India is being organized during the conference in presence of Ms. Anne Marie, Senior Manager, Elsevier Publications-Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology.

The Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE), India, registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act and affiliated with the International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE), is committed to promoting research and global dissemination of knowledge on medicinal plants, traditional medicine, and natural products. The main motto of the society is to the dissemination of knowledge on Natural Health Products through the globalization of local knowledge and localizing global technologies.
