Under the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme, the second day of training was conducted on 21 January 2026 at Baba Kuma Engineering College, District Amritsar. As part of the upscaling of the Aapda Mitra / Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme, training programmes are being organized across various districts of Punjab to provide disaster management training to the youth of the state.
In this regard, on the second day in Amritsar, the team of master trainers and trainers from the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration imparted detailed information to the volunteers about different types of disasters.
On the second day of the Yuva Aapda Mitra programme being conducted at Baba Kuma Engineering College, Colonel Pawandeep Singh (Sena Medal) visited the training camp. He interacted with the entire MGSIPA team and NCC volunteers and briefed them about the camp.
During the second day of training, Course Coordinator Ankur Sharma informed the volunteers about the basic principles of disaster management and preparedness before disasters. In addition, Sachin Sharma and Shubham Verma provided detailed information to the volunteers about earthquakes. Instructor Sunil Jaryal explained and demonstrated techniques related to lifting and stabilizing heavy loads.
Throughout the training, members of the MGSIPA team, NCC volunteers, and staff were actively present and participated in the programme.
