Blood Donation Camp Successfully Organized by District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar at District Court Complex

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Amritsar, in collaboration with the Civil Surgeon, Amritsar, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 06.01.2026 at the Office of the District Bar Association, District Court Complex, Amritsar, from 11:00 AM to 02:30 PM. The camp was organized on the occasion of the culmination of the “Youth Against Drugs” Campaign, with the objective of spreading awareness against drug abuse and promoting voluntary blood donation as a vital humanitarian service.
The Blood Donation Camp was conducted under the esteemed leadership of Mr. Justice Ashwini Kumar Mishra, Hon’ble Administrative Judge, Amritsar Sessions Division-cum-Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar; Mr. Justice Rohit Kapoor, Hon’ble Administrative Judge, Amritsar Sessions Division; and the Learned Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, and under the able guidance of Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, Learned District & Sessions Judge, Amritsar. Their vision and guidance were instrumental in ensuring the success and meaningful impact of the event.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from Judicial Officers of the Headquarters, District Courts, Amritsar; the President and Members of the District Bar Association; Advocates; Panel Lawyers of DLSA, Amritsar; and Judicial Staff, who voluntarily donated blood and actively supported this noble cause. The overwhelming response from the legal fraternity highlighted their deep sense of social responsibility and commitment to public welfare.
On this occasion, Sh. Amardeep Singh Bains, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar, also donated blood and emphasized the importance of sustained social awareness campaigns and community participation. He remarked that the “Youth Against Drugs” Campaign, conducted over a period of one month, had received positive feedback and active cooperation from various stakeholders. He stated that initiatives like blood donation camps symbolize the spirit of service and compassion, and also inspire the youth to adopt healthy, constructive, and drug-free lifestyles.
Sh. Gurpreet Singh Panesar, President, District Bar Association, Amritsar, appreciated the initiative undertaken by DLSA, Amritsar, and reiterated the commitment of the Bar Association to support such welfare-oriented programs. He commended the advocates and members of the Bar for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged continued involvement in social reform and public health activities.
The medical arrangements for the Blood Donation Camp were efficiently supervised by Dr. Maninder Kaur, Consultant, along with Dr. Ashanpreet Kaur and Dr. Ramanjot Kaur, who ensured that all medical procedures were conducted safely and smoothly in accordance with established medical protocols. Their professional efforts ensured a safe and comfortable environment for all blood donors. The counselling and motivational support during the event were effectively provided by Ms. Kuldip Kaur (Counsellor), who guided participants on healthy living and the importance of remaining drug-free. The coordinated efforts of Sh. Shiva Kant (MCT) and Sh. Ashok Kumar (MCT) also played a significant role in the successful management and execution of the camp.
Further, on the occasion of the culmination of the “Youth Against Drugs” Campaign, Appreciation Certificates were distributed to those members, volunteers, and officials who performed commendably and contributed actively during the month-long campaign. The certificates were awarded as a token of recognition for their dedicated efforts, enthusiasm, and commitment towards spreading awareness against drug abuse and promoting social welfare initiatives.
The successful organization of the Blood Donation Camp, along with the distribution of appreciation certificates, marked a fitting conclusion to the month-long campaign and reinforced the message that collective efforts and sustained awareness are essential to build a healthy, drug-free, and socially responsible society.
The District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar, expressed its sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Judges, Judicial Officers, Bar Association, advocates, panel lawyers, judicial staff, medical professionals, counsellors, MCT members, volunteers, and all participants for their invaluable cooperation and support.
