District Election Officer Himanshu Jain announced the publication of the draft electoral rolls for the Ludhiana West Assembly Segment by-election on Wednesday. The segment now has 173,071 voters, reflecting a net increase of 724 new electors since the last final update on January 7, 2025.
Jain noted that the additional voters include 358 males and 366 females. As of January 7, 2025 (last final voter list publication), Ludhiana West had 172,347 voters—comprising 88,703 males, 83,634 females, and 10 third-gender individuals. The updated draft list now shows 89,061 males, 84,000 females, and 10 third-gender voters. The constituency has 192 polling stations.
While handing over the draft electoral rolls and a CD containing a soft copy to representatives of political parties, Jain emphasized efforts to ensure accessibility and added the draft rolls are available with booth-level officers (BLOs), where residents can verify details and confirm the accuracy of the voter lists.
The District Election Officer stated that claims and objections to the draft voter list can be filed until April 24, 2025, with resolutions completed by May 2, 2025. The final voter list will be published on May 5, 2025.
Jain added that individuals seeking to register a new vote (Form-6), delete a vote (Form-7), or update their address (Form-8) can apply through their respective BLO or online at www.nvsp.in.
