Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan lauds Rotary club for humanitarian works

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Sunday lauded the Rotary Club for its services to humanity.
He was speaking at the district membership seminar Varidhi of Rotary Club at Nirvana Club, here.

The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker stated that the contribution by the club towards community service and developmemt is unmatchable. He mentioned that their members help the people to meet their basic needs by providing health care, sanitation, food, etc when and where the people are most needed. He stated that during Covid times, Rotary club carried out numerous humanitarian works which helped to save precious lives.

Sandhwan also pointed out that a sustainable solution to all social problems is possible only when government efforts are supplemented by organisations like Rotary.
MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi also addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of Rotary.

Prominent  amongst present on the occasion included Dr Tejinder Pal Singh, Dr PS Grover, Vijay  Anand, Ramesh Arora, Balbir Singh, SS Khurana, Parveen Chadha, Rakesh Mohindru, Brig Mastinder Singh, Dr G Avasthi, Adv JS Bindra, Dr Karamveer Goyal, Poonam Bindra, Neeraj Sharma and Deepika Sharma and others.

Inauguration of four-days Advance Imaging Workshop on “Recent Advancements in Bioimaging” at NIPER Mohali Mohali, 18th August 2026: The Department of Medical Devices at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, inaugurated a four-days Advance Imaging Workshop on “Recent Advancements in Bioimaging” from 18th to 21st August 2026. The workshop focuses on recent developments in widefield and confocal microscopy, with technical sessions, demonstrations and hands-on training for participants. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dulal Panda, Director NIPER Mohali, at 09:30 AM in the presence of associate Dean, Registrar, faculty members, invited experts, and participants. During his welcome address, Prof. Dulal Panda, highlighted the evolution of microscopy, particularly the advancement of confocal microscopy into a powerful tool for modern biological and biomedical research. He also emphasized the transformative role of fluorescence microscopy and the discovery of Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), noting how advances in imaging have enabled researchers to visualize cellular and molecular processes with greater clarity and precision. Following the Director’s address, Prof. Ipsita Roy, Associate Dean, NIPER Mohali, emphasized the importance of technological advancements and encouraged students to actively interact with experts and gain meaningful experience through hands-on learning. Workshop Organizer Dr. Ajay Kumar, along with Co-Organizers Prof. Tarun Sharma and Dr. Dipankar Das, Department of Medical Devices, encouraged the participants to ask challenging questions, explore new possibilities, and think beyond conventional approaches. The workshop features sessions covering the fundamentals and latest developments in widefield and confocal microscopy, along with system demonstrations and hands-on training in multidimensional imaging. The final two days are dedicated to individual laboratory sample acquisition and analysis using confocal microscopy, providing participants with an opportunity to apply the concepts and techniques learned during the workshop to their own research samples. The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ understanding of advanced bioimaging technologies and equip them with practical skills for applying these techniques in pharmaceutical, biomedical and life-science research.
