War against Drugs- DC and Khanna SSP inaugurate Football tournament

On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Khanna Police organized a two-day football tournament to promote sports under its war against drugs.

The tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney and SSP Amneet Kondal.

The Deputy Commissioner and SSP stated that the unique initiative is aimed at making the Ludhiana drug free, healthy and prosperous district by engaging them in the sporting activities. They mentioned that already the district and police administration are making concerted efforts for checking this menace but such initiatives can fructify only if the people come forward to eliminate this curse. They pointed out that if the young generation engages themselves into sports, they will not only become players but will also get opportunities for good jobs, and most importantly, they will remain healthy.

The tournament has 10 male teams and two female teams. The First prize will be Rs 11000 with trophy,  second prize will be Rs 5100 and Trophy, and Rs 3100 and Trophy will be given as third prize. The Fourth Prize will be the only trophy. Certification of participation as well as team Jersey will be given to all participants by Khanna Police.

Other attendees included SDM Rajneesh Arora, SP H Khanna Tarun Rattan, DSPs Tarlochan Singh, Sukhamrit Randhawa, Palwinder Singh, Ravinder Randhawa, Karamvir Toor, SMO Dr Tarakjot Singh.
