Residents thank CM Bhagwant Singh Mann for this initiative

67-year-old Ranjit Singh and 68-year-old Piara Singh, both of village Malak near Jagraon could not thank more the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government’s Sarkar Tuhade Dwar initiative as both got their old age pension cases approved on the spot.

“It’s for the first time in my life that I have received benefit of a government scheme while sitting in my own village,” said Ranjit Singh. Whereas Piara Singh too echoed similar thoughts.
A woman named Jagjit Kaur of village Malak, whose husband had died of cancer some time back, got sanction letter of widow pension while her daughter Chahatpreet Kaur got sanction letter for “financial assistance to dependent children” on the spot.
To provide citizen centric services to people at their doorsteps, a mega Grievances Redressal Camp under “Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” initiative under Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government was organised today at village Malak near Jagraon.
This camp was attended by Jagraon MLA Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, DC Sakshi Sawhney, SSP Ludhiana Rural Navneet Singh Bains, besides heads of different government departments.

In this camp, senior officials from departments namely Revenue, Sewa Kendras, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Social Security and Development of Women and Children, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Health, Water Supply and Sanitation, PSPCL, Rural Development and Panchayats, Police and others  provided services to the people.

Taking round of the camp, MLA Sarvjit Kaur Manuke and Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney interacted with the applicants and directed the officials to ensure prompt disposal of complaints of people.

MLA Sarvjit Kaur Manuke said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government has launched this unique initiative namely Sarkar Tuhade Dwar under which special Suvidha Camps are held at different locations with an objective to reach out masses to percolate the benefit of government’s services and schemes.
DC Sakshi Sawhney said that more camps would be held across the district under Sarkar Tuhade Dwar campaign so as to provide benefits of government services at doorsteps. She said that the district administration is fully committed to providing citizen services in a smooth, hassle-free and transparent manner and more camps would be held across the district so as to provide benefit of these services to maximum people.
Divulging further information, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney said that the purpose of holding these grievance redressal camps was to listen to the issues of the general public at their doorsteps and solve them on the spot. She said that every issue or complaint would be followed back to ensure optimum satisfaction of the people by appointing nodal officers and a dedicated team. She said that the participation of people in the governance process would make the services more accountable and transparent.
She stressed that benefits of all government social welfare schemes should go to the last person. She directed that there should be 100% utilisation of all government welfare schemes and no eligible beneficiary is left behind.
She said that following the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and to check any sort of inconvenience or harassment of the general public, a “Swagat & Sahayta Kendra” has also been set up in the Deputy Commissioner’s office Ludhiana.
She further said that a dedicated team will facilitate the general public for getting their routine administrative works done so they don’t have to wait for long hours. She said that this Swagat & Sahayta Kendra has been set up right outside her office and she will monitor all activities through a CCTV as well.
MLA Sarvjit Kaur Manuke said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was committed to serving the people by reaching and assisting them at their doorsteps. She said that the government was already holding camps under the Sarkar Tuhade Dwar scheme.
