Cleaning of Corridors in Chandigarh under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign

In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, banks across the country are observing the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ campaign from 17 September to 02 October 2026, with the objective of promoting cleanliness, public participation and a sense of collective responsibility towards cleanliness. The theme of this year’s campaign is “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”

Ramkishore Meena, Deputy General Manager, State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Punjab, informed that as part of the campaign, the corridors of Sector 17, Chandigarh, were cleaned today by the staff members of SLBC Punjab and branch office Punjab National Bank, Sector 17-B. After the cleanliness drive, the general public was administered the Swachhata Pledge and made aware of the importance of cleanliness in daily life.

Chief Manager Sunil Kumar informed that on 01 October 2026, cleanliness and shramdaan activities will be organized across the country at 8:00 AM under the call of “One Day, One Hour, Together.”

Thereafter, 02 October will be observed as Swachh Bharat Diwas. The Branch Head PNB’s Sector 17-B Branch, Shivraj Vij informed that plantation programmes will also be organized during the campaign under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, with the objective of promoting environmental protection and greater public participation.

On the occasion, Sunil Kumar, Shivraj Vij, Binny Bhatia, Rajni Walia, Dalip Kumar, Nidhi Sharma and Shikha Tanwar, among others, were present.
