The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh successfully organized a five-day Capacity Building Training Programme on “Faculty Excellence, Quality Assurance and Institutional Transformation” for the faculty members of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur from 15th to 19th July 2026 at the Centre of Excellence, NITTTR Chandigarh.
The programme commenced with an inaugural session and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NITTTR Chandigarh and NIT Manipur, marking the beginning of a long-term academic partnership aimed at promoting faculty development, collaborative research, curriculum innovation, and institutional capacity building.
Welcoming the dignitaries and participants, Prof. (Dr.) B. R. Gurjar, Director, NITTTR Chandigarh, emphasized the pivotal role of continuous faculty development in building globally competitive institutions. The inaugural session was graced by Prof. D. P. Agarwal, Former Chairman, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, IISER Mohali, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary learning, research-driven education. Prof. D. V. L. N. Somayajulu, Director, NIT Manipur, appreciated the initiative and expressed confidence that the programme would empower faculty members with innovative pedagogical practices, technological competencies, and leadership skills essential for academic excellence
The programme coordinated by Dr. Meenakshi Sood, NITTTR Chandigarh, who stated that today’s faculty members are expected to be facilitators of innovation, mentors, researchers, and academic leaders.
The valedictory session marked the successful culmination of the programme with participant feedback, assessment, and reflection on the learning outcomes achieved during the five days in the presence of dr Shiv Kumar Sharma, National Organising secretary, VIBHA Participants appreciated the programme for its relevance, practical orientation, and multidisciplinary approach, and expressed confidence in applying the acquired knowledge and skills within their respective academic departments and institutions.
The programme concluded on a highly positive note, reinforcing the shared vision of both institutions to nurture future-ready educators through collaborative capacity-building initiatives.
