The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Chandigarh, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, will organise a media workshop titled ‘Vartalap’ for local media persons on January 16 at the Panchayat Bhawan, Ambala. The programme is being organised under the guidance of Additional Director General, PIB Chandigarh, Shri Vivek Vaibhav.
Media and Communication Officer, PIB Chandigarh, Shri Ahmed Khan informed that the media workshop ‘Vartalap’ will be held under the chairmanship of Additional Director General, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Shri Rajendra Chaudhary. Deputy Commissioner Ambala, Shri Ajay Singh Tomar will attend the programme as the Chief Guest, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri Virat Vishisht will be present as the Guest of Honour. The objective of Vartalap is to strengthen coordination between the government and local media so as to ensure effective dissemination of information related to government schemes.
Shri Khan stated that during the interaction, Shri Rajendra Chaudhary will provide detailed information to journalists on the Viksit Bharat GRAMG Act 2025 and rural development schemes of the Government of India. The programme will include interactive discussions between officials and journalists on various contemporary issues. Information on public welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments will also be shared. The media workshop aims to address challenges faced by local media while providing a platform for interactive sessions on diverse subjects.
On this occasion, information will also be provided about the Journalist Welfare Scheme of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, along with the working procedures of the Ministry.
He further informed that during the Vartalap, a detailed discussion will be held on the functioning of PIB, the Office of the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI/PRGI), and other media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Through this interaction, media persons will gain valuable insights to effectively incorporate government initiatives into their reporting, ensuring that the public benefits from these schemes on a larger scale. The event is expected to prove a milestone in promoting cooperation and partnership between the media and the government.
