The Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Moga, Smt. Charumita, PCS, has reiterated her commitment to maintaining strict compliance with town planning norms, adopting a policy of zero tolerance towards unauthorised and unplanned development in the district.
In a concerted effort to curb illegal constructions, a special enforcement drive was launched under the direct supervision of Smt. Charumita. The drive targets individuals and developers who continue to raise unauthorised structures without obtaining mandatory building plan approvals from the competent authority—an act that not only violates government norms but also poses serious planning and safety concerns.
Acting on the orders of the ADC (G)-cum-Competent Authority, a joint enforcement team including the Duty Magistrate, police personnel, and officials from the District Town Planning (Regulatory) office—comprising the District Town Planner (Regulatory), Assistant Town Planner (Regulatory), and Junior Engineer (Regulatory)—carried out sealing operations at various sites across the district.
The action took place at Village Gagra, on Moga-Kot Ise Khan Road, Village Fatehgarh Korotana, on Moga-Jalandhar Road, Village Dala, on Moga-Barnala Road.
Despite prior notices being served, the developers continued with unauthorised construction activities. As a result, workmen were removed from the sites, and the illegal structures were sealed with the assistance of the police. The operations were carried out smoothly and without opposition.
The ADC (G) further stated that such enforcement actions will continue in the coming weeks as part of an intensified crackdown to prevent the mushrooming of unauthorised buildings in the district.
She also made a strong appeal to the general public, urging them not to undertake any construction activity without prior approval of their building plans from the Competent Authority.
