Leaving sweet and deep memories, 46th Prof. Mohan Singh

Ludhiana ( Gurvinder sidhu) 46th Professor Mohan Singh Memorial International Punjabi Cultural Fair in memory of Prof. Mohan Singh completed here after leaving his sweet and deep memories. The fair was organised at Dr. A.V.M Public Senior Secondary School Isa Nagri Pulli, Near Civil Hospital Ludhiana.  Earlier, the fair was inaugurated by the Cabinet Minister of Punjab Hardeep Singh Mundia.  During the fair, personalities who have contributed significantly to Punjab and Punjabiyat were honored.  At the same time, Navjot Singh Jarg and his colleagues presented Punjabi traditional singing and dhadi Kawishri and folk dances were presented by the students of Dr. A.V.M Public Senior Secondary School.
On this occasion, the patron of the foundation Pragat Singh Grewal, Prithipal Singh SP, Chairman Gurnam Singh Dhaliwal, President Rajiv Kumar Lovely and Chairman of Reception Committee Amarinder Singh Jassowal said that Baba Bohar of Punjabi mother tongue late S. Jagdev Singh Jassowal has started this fair in memory of his close friend Prof. Mohan Singh.   Thanks to whose inspiration the 46th Prof. Mohan Singh International Punjabi Cultural Mela is being organized by the Prof. Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation. The fair was started yesterday after offering floral tributes to Prof. Mohan Singh’s statue and a seminar and Kavi Darbar was held at Punjabi Bhavan. While today an open arena of Punjabi traditional singing has been organized in Dr. A.V.M Public Senior Secondary School.  Meanwhile, school children also presented other cultural activities including Bhangra, Giddha.
They said that on this occasion, Cabinet Minister of Punjab Government S. Hardeep Singh Mundian inaugurated the fair.  Before the award ceremony, Navjot Singh Jarg and his colleagues presented Punjabi traditional singing and folk dances were presented by the students of Dr. AVM Public Senior Secondary School.  After this, the vice chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University Dr.  Satbir Singh Gosal, Patron of the Foundation Dr.  Gurbhajan Singh Gill, MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi, Secretary General of the Foundation Dr.  Nirmal Jora, former MP and famous folk singer Muhammad Sadiq honoured the personalities including Jyoti Nooran, who holds a special place in Punjabi Sufi singing, Deep Dhillon and Jasmin for duet singing, NRI Punjabi poet Harjinder Kang, sports Olympian Harwant Kaur, NRI Punjabi poet Nirmal  Singh America, Canada, Deep Dhillon and music director Tejwant Kittu were felicitated with various awards.
After the felicitation ceremony, cultural performances were given by Jyoti Nooran, Deep Dhillon and Jasmine, folk singers Ravinder Grewal, Atma Budhewalia, Jaswant Sandila, Shalini Jamwal, Happy Dehlon and Love Manjot.  While the program was moderated by Biba Meena Mehrok and Karamjit Grewal.
The purpose of organizing this fair is to connect our future generations with the rich Punjabi heritage. They also congratulated Maninder Singh Thind, Rajinder Singh Finetone, Harnek Singh Grewal Raikot, Mani Grewal, Sandeep Singh Rupalo, Amarjit Singh Sherpuri, Prateek Inder Singh Grewal, Balwinder Singh Grewal, Karamjit Singh Grewal, Harbrinder Pal Singh Jasowal, Dilbagh Singh Khataray Kalan, Atma Budhewalia, Gaurav Mahindru, Tanishk Kanaujia, Balwinder Singh Goldy along with Dr.  Thanks were also expressed to all the staff members of AVM Public Senior Secondary School, who contributed greatly to make the fair a success.
