Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal on Thursday inaugurated a free Artificial Limbs distribution camp organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust Punjab at its Divyang Sahayta Kendar, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana under the CSR initiative of Vardhman Special Steels Ltd.
President of the Trust Pankaj Jindal shared that the Trust has so far organized almost 1700 camps in which Artificial Limbs and Aids & Appliance has been provided free of cost to approx. 70,000 physically challenged patients/beneficiaries by the Trust. He also shared that almost 3200 Polio Corrective Surgeries have also been conducted free of cost by the Trust and all these have been 100 percent successful.
In the camp organized today, Artificial Limbs and other Aids & Appliance comprising of Modular Legs, Arms, Hearing Aids, Wheelchair and Try-cycles etc. were given to 80 beneficiaries.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the beneficiaries and also honored the various volunteers who had assisted Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Trust Punjab in organizing Preventive Health Awareness and Medical Check- up camps in slum areas of Ludhiana and various other localities.
Addressing the audience, the Deputy Commissioner applauded the efforts of the Trust and its team for giving a new lease of life to the disabled by not only providing them with Artificial Limbs and other Aids & Appliance but also helping them learn skills and earn their livelihood.
At the end, Treasurer of the Trust Sunita Chatley thanked the Deputy Commissioner and the Chairman Sachit Jain, Executive Director of Vardhman Special Steels Limited Soumya Jain, Executive Director of Vardhman Special Steels Limited RK Rewari for continuously supporting them in their mission to have a disabled free Punjab.
On this occasion, Head CSR from Vardhman Steels Amit Dhawan, Assistant Manager CSR- Vardhman Steels Rishu Jain, Member National Team Trust Aruna Puri, Rajesh Nohria, SP Sood, Pooja Chatley, Rajinder Bansal and other senior members of the Trust were also present.
