Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Saturday stated that the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of NDA/NA and CDS Exam-2024 tomorrow (Sep 1).
The exam will be held in 14 centres and 4470 candidates will appear for the exams. Jammers have been installed and 104 security personnel have also been deployed in all the centres.
The CDS exam will be held in three shifts from 9 am to 11 am, 12 pm to 2 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm. This will be held at four centres including SCD Govt College (block -B), SCD Govt College (block -d), SDP College for women and Arya College (Boys). The NDA/NA exam will be held in two sessions i.e. 10 am to 12:30 am & 2 pm to 4:30 pm.*
For the CDS exam, the gates will be closed at 8.30 am and for NDA/NA exam, the closing time of gates will be 9.30 am. After gates are closed, no one will be allowed to enter the exam centres.
The exam will be held in Guru Nanak Public School, Khalsa College for women, Govt College For Girls (sub centre-A), Govt College For Girls (sub centre-B), Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College (Sub centre-A) , Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College (Sub centre-B) , Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, MBA block, Nankana Sahib Public School and DAV Public School (two blocks).
The Deputy Commissioner said that the exam functionaries, including supervisors, assistant supervisors, venue supervisors, local inspecting officers, police, and other officers have been cleared about their role and responsibilities. She instructed the exam functionaries to ensure that any discrepancy hindering the smooth and successful conduct of the examination is avoided while performing their duties.

*The candidates will be allowed to appear in the above exam with the admit card half an hour before the start of the exam. Detailed important instructions have already been provided by the UPSC along with the Admit Card.
Adequate police personnel including male and female cops will be deployed at each center and all centers will be covered with frisking by the police department.
The candidates are not allowed to have or use any electronic devices, including mobile phones (even switched off), pagers, pen drives, smart watches, cameras, Bluetooth devices, or any related accessories that could be used for communication during the examination.
Use of simple wristwatches is permitted, but any wristwatch with communication capabilities or smart features is strictly prohibited inside the Examination Rooms/Halls. Any violation of these rules will result in disciplinary action, including a ban from future examinations.
