Lt. Gen. Katiyar also expressed the Army’s procurement from industries in Punjab giving boost to Made in India initiative. MP Arora committed to facilitating connections with Ludhiana’s manufacturers to ensure the supply of high-quality components for the Army’s machinery and vehicles and other products as required by force.
An informal meeting was also held over lunch with Chief of Staff Lt General Mohit Wadhwa, Major General Vikramjit S. Gill, Col JS Sandhu Advisor Civil Military Affairs, Harpreet Sandhu a nature artist and other senior army and civil officials.
During his visit, MP Arora commended the Western Command’s exemplary facilities, including state-of-the-art sports venues, libraries, and a golf course, and lauded its beautifully landscaped premises. He acknowledged the Command’s pivotal role in defending the nation during conflicts in 1965 and 1971, 1999 Kargil war underscoring its enduring legacy in safeguarding India’s sovereignty.
Arora further said that we all Indians need to be proud of our Armed Forces who safeguard us by doing their resolute and tough duties.
