Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Major Amit Sareen today held a meeting with heads of various departments to prepare the arrangements for the ensuing Independence Day celebrations to be held at PAU grounds on August 15, 2024.
Presiding over a meeting in Bachat Bhawan, Sareen stated that the songs, folk dance or choreography as well as other cultural items, which will be presented by the students on August 15 should be based on patriotic fervour and must depict the cultural legacy of the country as well as the state. He mentioned that the rehearsal for the same will commence in the first week of August.
Sareen also issued directions to various departments to prepare Tableaus on different themes. He also told the municipal corporation to ensure proper cleanliness of the venue and roads leading to the venue and build temporary urinals and mobile toilets for participants. Likewise, he also asked the health department to depute sufficient medical teams during the event and provide medicines and ambulances in case of an emergency.
The meeting also focused on discussion of work distribution to be carried out by various departments for successful conduct of the Independence Day Celebrations.
Those present on the occasion included GLADA ACA Ojasvi Alankar, Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal and others.
