“Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” to be Organised in Two Colleges in Every District of Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana on National Sports Day 2026

Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, is organising “Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” on the occasion of National Sports Day 2026. The programme aims to connect youth with the national vision of sports, fitness and youth-led nation building.

Ms. Rashmeet Kaur, State Director, Mera Yuva Bharat Punjab; Shri Shivdhan Sharma, UT Director, Mera Yuva Bharat Chandigarh; and Shri Akarsh Dixit, State Director, Mera Yuva Bharat Haryana, informed that “Khelo India Samvaad” will be organised in two colleges in every district of Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana on 27 August 2026. Students and youth at these venues will join the nationally synchronised programme and listen to the virtual address of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This will be followed by local-level interaction with youth and various activities.

The State Directors further stated that the programme seeks to create greater awareness among youth about sports while connecting them with India’s sporting journey, fitness and youth-led development. Local sportspersons and public representatives will also participate, providing youth an opportunity to share their ideas, suggestions and aspirations.

The Yuva Samvaad will focus on four key themes—Building a More Civic-Minded Youth; Future-Ready Youth, Skills Beyond the Classroom; Reimagining Volunteering for the New-Age Youth; and Making MY Bharat a Stronger Platform. Youth will be encouraged to share their views and suggestions on these themes.

During the programme, youth will also be encouraged to register on the MY Bharat portal and will have the opportunity to submit their suggestions digitally through the MY Bharat Suggestions Box. The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 Quiz will also be promoted among the participants.

During the press conference, Shri Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh; and Shri Vikram Singh, Assistant Director, MY Bharat Punjab, briefed media representatives on the detailed programme and the preparations being undertaken across Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana. briefed media representatives on the detailed programme and the preparations being undertaken across Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana.

Shri Jai Bhagwan, Regional Director, National Service Scheme (NSS), Chandigarh, along with officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI), were also present. The officials shared information regarding the successful conduct of the programme, youth participation and various initiatives related to sports and youth development.

The officials stated that “Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” will provide an important platform to connect youth with sports, fitness, volunteering and nation building. Through this initiative, efforts are being made to provide youth with a platform to share their ideas and suggestions and to make them active participants in the journey towards Viksit Bharat@2047.
