Ludhiana ( Gurvinder sidhu)Sambhav Foundation today organized Earth Hour Plantation Drive here. Around 500 volunteers participated at the primary site near GNE College, Ludhiana. Over 2,30,000 trees were planted across 450 locations in Ludhiana, including 1,02,000 trees distributed with support from the Forest Department, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, and District Administration Ludhiana. All plants will be cared for by Sambhav Foundation to ensure their growth.
This event highlighted Ludhiana’s dedication to environmental conservation, with volunteers from various backgrounds planting trees at homes, offices, and designated locations. Sambhav Foundation will continue to monitor and nurture the trees, contributing to Ludhiana’s green cover. We thank all volunteers and supporters for their invaluable contribution.
In an unprecedented initiative to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Earth Hour Ludhiana, Sambhav Foundation spearheaded the plantation of 1 lakh trees across the city in just one hour, from 8-9 AM. This ambitious project aimed to significantly increase Ludhiana’s green cover and promote environmental sustainability. The drive received overwhelming support from various individuals and organizations, with volunteers adopting plants and committing to their long-term care. As part of the event, Sambhav Foundation planted 500 trees near Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana.
Several esteemed attendees, including, Kritika Goyal, Assistant Commissioner, Ludhiana, Jasdev Sekhon, Assistant Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, Neeraj Jain, Zonal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, Rajesh Gulati, Divisional Forest Officer, Ludhiana and Jaswant Zafar graced the occasion, lending their support to this monumental effort.
Manveer Singh, a representative of Sambhav Foundation, stated, “This plantation drive is a monumental step towards enhancing Ludhiana’s green cover. By planting 1 lakh trees, we aim to create a lasting impact on our environment and inspire the community to prioritize sustainable practices.”

The initiative was backed by several organizations, including Clean Air Punjab, Khalsa Aid, NSS GNE College, National Skill Training, Rehras Sewa Society, Robinhood Army, Weltech Group, and Metal Man Group. Their participation underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing environmental challenges and promoting a greener future for Ludhiana.
