Phagwara (Shiv Kaura)
On the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the officials of Municipal Corporation Phagwara inspected the Nagar Kirtan route for the arrival of Nagar Kirtan in Phagwara. This inspection was done under the directions of Phagwara Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Akshita Gupta (IAS) to maintain high civic standards and keeping in mind the importance of Nagar Kirtan. Assistant Commissioner Anish Bansal inspected the Nagar Kirtan staff SO, Gurinder Singh, SI Hitesh Sharma, Namdev, JE Rakesh Kumar inspected the route and reviewed the arrangements related to cleanliness, street lights and security measures so that the Nagar Kirtan could be conducted in a smooth and dignified manner. Mayor Rampal Uppal assured that the Municipal Corporation would make all necessary arrangements to give a warm welcome to the Phagwara Nagar Kirtan, highlighting the Corporation’s commitment to present a clean, bright and tidy environment for the devotees. He further said that the preparations for this event are being organized with full coordination between the departments under the guidance of Dr. Gupta, in which attention is being paid to every detail.
The Mayor also appealed to the city residents to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation teams, maintain cleanliness and actively participate in making the event a grand success. On this occasion, Manager of Gurdwara Sukhchainana Sahib S. Narinder Singh, Head Granthi S. Balwinder Singh and Baljit Singh Chhabra (Sonu) were present. The Municipal Corporation ensured that the Nagar Kirtan proceeded peacefully and respectfully, honouring the supreme sacrifice and teachings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who sacrificed his life for the protection of faith, unity and humanity.
