The Field Operations Division of National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India is engaged in collecting information from households and establishments since 1950 which is used for planning and policy formulation both at National and State level.<\/p>\n
Information is collected by trained officers of the NSO using hand-held digital devices (tablets) equipped with e-Sigma software and secure web portals designated for enterprise surveys. All information collected in these surveys is kept strictly confidential. The identity of households and enterprises participating in the survey is not disclosed in any report or published data.
