In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, the \u2018Swachhata Hi Seva 2026\u2019 campaign will be organised by all banks across the country from 17 September to 02 October 2026 with the objective of promoting cleanliness, public participation, and collective responsibility towards sanitation. The theme of this year’s campaign is \u201cSwachhata Mein Sahbhag \u2013 Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat\u201d.<\/p>\n
It was stated by Ramkishor Meena, Deputy General Manager of the State Level Bankers’ Committee, Punjab, that during this campaign in Punjab, ensuring the active participation of citizens, local bodies, government departments, institutions, social organisations, and various communities, various activities including special cleanliness drives will be organised at public places, high-footfall areas, and Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs).<\/p>\n
The primary objective of the campaign is to promote public participation, along with creating a clean and healthy environment, and encouraging the concept of prosperity through cleanliness \u2018Kabaad se Jugaad – Waste to Wealth\u2019 and circular economy. The campaign commenced on 17 September with a cleanliness pledge taken by all bank employees.<\/p>\n
During the campaign, various special cleanliness activities focused on inclusivity and social welfare will be organised. Meanwhile, on 1 October, Shramdaan activities will be organised across the country at 8 AM with the call of \u201cEk Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath\u201d, and Swachh Bharat Diwas will be celebrated on 2 October.<\/p>\n
Similarly, during the campaign, plantation programmes will be organised under the \u2018Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam\u2019 initiative, and special attention will be paid to the health, safety, and welfare of sanitation workers by organising \u2018Safaimitra Suraksha Aur Samman Shivir\u2019. In these camps, health check-ups, distribution of necessary safety equipment, and other welfare activities will also be promoted.<\/p>\n
For the successful execution of the campaign, an appeal is also made to general citizens to actively participate in cleanliness activities, cooperate in keeping public spaces clean, and not limit cleanliness merely to a campaign, but make it an integral part of daily life. \u201cParticipation in cleanliness is the strength of Swachh Bharat, and Swachh Bharat is an important step towards a Viksit Bharat.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
