The meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) was organized today at CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Chandigarh.<\/p>\n
Senior officers and representatives from various departments and institutions of the Central Government participated in the meeting to deliberate on a joint strategy to enhance the reach of public welfare schemes.<\/p>\n
Smt. Alka Rao, Director, CSIR-IMTECH in her keynote address elaborated on the major achievements and ongoing work of the institute in the field of microbial research. She said that the research being conducted by the institute in microbial science and technology is providing wide-ranging benefits to society. She highlighted the institute’s role in key areas such as Microbes Depository, Bioeconomy, Biosafety and Microbial Technology.<\/p>\n
Smt. Alka Rao informed that CSIR-IMTECH is advancing research and innovation through collaboration with various national and international institutions, including scientific collaboration with NASA. She emphasized that connecting science and technology with society and creating awareness among the general public about scientific achievements is the need of the hour.<\/p>\n
Addressing the meeting, Shri Pritam Singh, Director, PIB, Regional Office, Chandigarh, said that the IMPCC meeting is an important platform for establishing coordination among various government departments.<\/p>\n
He said that various departments of the Central Government are implementing several public welfare schemes at their respective levels, but if departments establish coordination for publicity of these programmes and better integrate their activities, their benefits can reach the maximum number of people. He called upon departments to coordinate their programmes and campaigns from the perspective of wider public interest so that available resources and communication mediums can be effectively utilized.<\/p>\n
Ms. Sapna, Deputy Director, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Chandigarh, highlighting the importance of IMPCC, said that regular dialogue and coordination among various departments can make government communication more effective.<\/p>\n
Ms. Sapna laid special emphasis on the increasing role of social media in the publicity of government programmes and schemes. She said that strategic use of digital and social media platforms is necessary to effectively communicate information about government initiatives to the younger generation and establish direct communication with youth.<\/p>\n
Representatives of various Central Government departments and institutions including Border Security Force (BSF), All India Radio (AIR), Department of Telecommunications, Department of Higher Education, Doordarshan, National Statistical Office (NSO), Indian Oil, Petroleum Sector, MY Bharat, National Service Scheme (NSS), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), PRO Defence, Census Department, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), IISER, SLBC, Income Tax Department, PEC, among others, participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n
Representatives shared information about the activities of their respective departments, upcoming programmes and public welfare initiatives, and presented their views and suggestions for making government communication and publicity more effective.<\/p>\n
The meeting concluded with a resolve to maintain continuous coordination among various departments and to communicate information about public welfare schemes and programmes to the general public in a more effective, simple and comprehensive manner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
