In a decisive move to strengthen road safety and ensure seamless highway operations, Project Implementation Unit (PIU)\u2013Ambala, under NHAI Regional Office, Chandigarh, undertook a massive anti-encroachment drive along NH-44 in Karnal on the Panipat\u2013Khanna corridor, maintained under the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) regime.<\/p>\n
The drive targeted unauthorised structures, roadside obstructions and encroachments within the highway right-of-way, with the objective of keeping the national highway safe, accessible and free from impediments.<\/p>\n
The action is part of NHAI\u2019s continued efforts to safeguard highway land, improve traffic movement and ensure that routine maintenance, emergency response and other highway operations are carried out without obstruction.<\/p>\n
NH-44 is a critical national transportation corridor carrying heavy passenger and commercial traffic.
