{"id":27887,"date":"2026-06-11T21:06:47","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T15:36:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=27887"},"modified":"2026-06-11T21:06:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T15:36:47","slug":"prarambh-2026-income-tax-department-chandigarh-hosts-mega-event-on-awareness-of-income-tax-act-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=27887","title":{"rendered":"PRARAMBH 2026: Income Tax Department, Chandigarh hosts Mega Event on Awareness of Income-Tax Act, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chandigarh,<\/p>\n<p>(\u00a0 Justice News)<\/p>\n<p>The Income Tax Department, North-West Region, Chandigarh, organised a Mega Event under the initiative PRARAMBH 2026 \u2014 Policy Reform and Responsible Action for Mission Viksit Bharat \u2014 at Aayakar Bhawan, Sector 17-E, Chandigarh, to create awareness on the newly rolled out Income-Tax Act, 2025.\u00a0 The programme was attended by senior officers of the Department, along with office bearers and members of the Associations of Chartered Accountants, the Tax Bar and the Beopar Mandal of Chandigarh.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occassion, Shri Mayank Priyadarshi, IRS, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, North-West Region, Chandigarh, underlined the importance of stakeholder engagement in making the new law more accessible and effective. He said the session had been kept compact in view of austerity measures, but it remained meaningful and focused on outreach as an inaugural event. He also informed that 22 station-level outreach programmes across the North-West Region will be held on 16 June 2026 under the various Heads of Department. He requested the media to widely propagate the changes introduced in the new law.<\/p>\n<p>Shri Abhishek Pal Garg, CIT (Admin.), O\/o the Pr. CCIT, NWR, said that the new Act has been drafted in simplified language to make it easier for all stakeholders to understand and implement. He said PRARAMBH 2026 is a comprehensive outreach initiative aimed at ensuring a smooth transition to the Income-Tax Act, 2025 through educational content, digital support and physical outreach.\u00a0 He added that the Department is making compliance more citizen-friendly so that common taxpayers can file their returns on their own and access online assistance through a technology-driven system.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, Shri Ashok Kumar Jha, IRS (Retd.), former Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, delivered a special session on the simplification of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the evolution of the tax administration framework. The event also featured a live demonstration of the AI chatbot before the stakeholders. The session remained interactive throughout, and feedback was taken from the participants to further improve the content and outreach modules under PRARAMBH 2026.
