The programme has brought together participants from nine countries\u2014Cameroon, Guatemala, Liberia, Palestine, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Togo, and Vietnam, reflecting its global outreach and collaborative spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. (Dr.) B. R. Gurjar, Director, NITTTR Chandigarh, welcomed the dignitaries and international participants. In his address, he emphasized the growing significance of digital media competencies in the rapidly evolving global communication landscape. He highlighted the need for professionals to stay updated with emerging tools and technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Guest, Shri Viraj Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the pivotal role of the ITEC programme in fostering international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building among partner countries. He stressed the importance of effectively leveraging modern digital tools for communication, education, and dissemination of knowledge in today\u2019s interconnected world. Beyond technical learning, he encouraged participants to actively engage with India\u2019s rich cultural heritage and traditions during their stay, viewing it as an integral part of their overall experience. He expressed confidence that the participants would carry valuable insights and skills back to their respective countries.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh K Wats, Programme Coordinator, Prof. &amp; Head, Department of Media Engineering, presented a comprehensive overview of the programme, outlining its objectives, structure, and expected outcomes. The session also included an engaging interaction with international participants, fostering a spirit of cross-cultural exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The initial sessions of the programme covered topics such as \u201cFoundations of Digital Media &amp; Visual Design\u201d and \u201cBasics of Design\u201d, followed by hands-on practical exercises aimed at building core competencies.
