{"id":25123,"date":"2026-02-25T19:57:56","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T14:27:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=25123"},"modified":"2026-02-25T19:57:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T14:27:56","slug":"vigilance-bureau-nabs-asi-red-handed-accepting-bribe-of-rs-15000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=25123","title":{"rendered":"Vigilance Bureau nabs ASI red handed accepting bribe of Rs 15000\/-"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Chandigarh<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">(Gurvinder Sidhu)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against\u00a0 corruption in the state, has apprehended Assistant Sub-Inspector Janak Raj posted as incharge of police post Kailash Chowk, Ludhiana red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000\/-.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above-mentioned accused has been arrested based on a complaint lodged by a resident of\u00a0 Civil Line, Ludhiana<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He said that\u00a0 the complainant brother was arrested in a case wherein the accused ASI was the investigating officer. In this regard, complainant alleged that when he went to meet brother in the police station, the accused ASI received as Rs. 10,000\/- bribe on the spot for allowing him to meet his arrested brother.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Furthermore, he informed that accused ASI demanded bribe money rupees two lakh in the name of SHO and rupees fifty thousand for himself in lieu of not getting the complainant&#8217;s brother further police remand. The entire conversation regarding the demand of bribe was recorded by the complainant.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Unwilling to pay any illegal gratification, the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau range , Ludhiana.
