{"id":23870,"date":"2026-01-18T19:57:21","date_gmt":"2026-01-18T14:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=23870"},"modified":"2026-01-18T19:57:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-18T14:27:21","slug":"cabinet-minister-sanjeev-arora-inaugurates-punjabs-first-dog-sanctuary-in-ludhiana-initiative-aims-to-reduce-dog-bite-cases-and-ensure-humane-treatment-of-stray-dogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=23870","title":{"rendered":"Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora inaugurates Punjab\u2019s first \u2018Dog Sanctuary\u2019 in Ludhiana-Initiative aims to reduce dog bite cases and ensure humane treatment of stray dogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ludhiana<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">(Gurvinder Sidhu )<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In a major step towards strengthening urban public safety and animal welfare, Punjab Government\u2019s Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Industries and Commerce, Mr. Sanjeev Arora on Sunday inaugurated the State\u2019s first-ever \u2018Dog Sanctuary\u2019 at the Haibowal Dairy Complex in Ludhiana.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Terming the project a pioneering initiative, Mr. Arora said the sanctuary has been established with the twin objectives of reducing incidents of dog bites in the city and ensuring proper medical care, shelter and humane treatment for stray dogs.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Cabinet Minister informed that the sanctuary has the capacity to accommodate around 500 dogs and has been launched as a pilot project. \u201cBased on its success, more such dog sanctuaries will be established across Punjab in the coming time,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mr. Arora stated that with the inauguration of this facility, a key poll promise made to the residents of Ludhiana has been fulfilled. He emphasised that the Dog Sanctuary will strictly comply with all directions and guidelines issued by the Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court from time to time regarding the management and welfare of stray dogs.
