National Agri-Food and Bio-manufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI) today hosted the BioE\u00b3 Conclave, marking a key milestone in advancing the Government of India\u2019s BioE\u00b3 Policy\u2014Biotechnology for Economy, Environment, and Employment. The event formed part of the BioE\u00b3 Pakhwada, celebrating one year of this transformative national initiative. Designed to empower youth, enhance farmers\u2019 income, generate employment, and strengthen India\u2019s bio-economy, the BioE\u00b3 Policy is aligned with national missions such as Make in India and Viksit Bharat.<\/p>\n
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Rajesh S. Gokhale, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and Shri Priyank Bharti, IAS, Secretary, Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Government of Punjab.<\/p>\n
Dr. Gokhale initiated the BioE\u00b3 dialogue, sharing his vision of its long-term national impact and assured strong Centre\u2013State collaboration for policy implementation. Shri Bharti launched the BioE\u00b3 Punjab Video, reaffirming the State Government\u2019s commitment to driving the policy in Punjab and emphasized Centre\u2013State coordination to advance the BioE\u00b3 mission. Prof. Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, BRIC-NABI, presented an implementation roadmap for BioE\u00b3 through BRIC-NABI and announced that Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) will soon host the first BioE\u00b3 call for the state.<\/p>\n
The conclave brought together dignitaries from DBT-supported CNRIC institutions, industry leaders, start-ups, and media, highlighting the triple-helix model of government, industry, and academia as essential to the success of the BioE\u00b3 initiative.<\/p>\n
The event also featured visits to BRIC-NABI\u2019s cutting-edge research facilities\u2014BioNEST and Biofoundry\u2014along with a poster session and product exhibition showcasing innovations in agri-food biotechnology and bio-manufacturing.<\/p>\n
