Local villagers reported damage, with many acres of paddy and poplar crops submerged due to flooding. Responding to the villagers&#8217; requests, he directed officials to provide 100 tarpaulins to the village panchayat to assist affected residents in protecting their belongings. He further instructed officials to maintain a 24-hour vigil in the flood-prone areas to ensure the safety of residents and prevent further damage.<br \/>\nIn Talwandi Naubad, the DC inspected the Dhussi Bandh, engaging with villagers to understand their concerns. He instructed officials to maintain continuous surveillance and ensure the availability of response teams at all times. In Talwara and Baranhara, where breaches in Buddha Dariya\u2019s embankments were reported, Jain ordered immediate action to plug the gaps, with teams promptly dispatched to carry out repairs and mitigate further damage.<br \/>\nEarlier in the day, DC Jain and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal surveyed additional areas along Buddha Dariya, issuing directives to strengthen flood defenses and protect areas.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\nDC Jain reaffirmed the administration\u2019s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stating that that we are closely monitoring the situation and taking every necessary step to ensure the safety of our communities. He stated that teams are prepared to handle any emergencies arising from the rising water levels.<br \/>\nWith water discharge in the Sutlej River projected to reach up to one lakh cusecs in the coming days, the DC urged residents in low-lying areas to stay vigilant and cooperate with the administration\u2019s efforts.
