The event is scheduled to take place from <strong>November 20\u201324, 2025<\/strong>, at the Marriott Resort, Goa.<\/p>\n<p>Running alongside the\u00a0<strong>International Film Festival of India (IFFI)<\/strong>, Film Bazaar was rebranded as\u00a0<em>Waves Film Bazaar<\/em>\u00a0as part of a broader strategic vision to position India as a global hub for content, creativity, and co-productions. Over the years, it has established itself as a premier platform connecting Indian and South Asian filmmaking talent with international professionals. Last year, it attracted more than\u00a0<strong>1,800 participants from over 40 countries<\/strong>, underscoring its growing influence in the global film industry.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Co-Production Market<\/strong>, a flagship feature of Waves Film Bazaar, invites submissions for\u00a0<strong>Feature<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Documentary projects<\/strong>. Since its inception in 2007, this platform has created curated opportunities for filmmakers to secure both artistic and financial support. It continues to unite film professionals worldwide, fostering international partnerships and collaborative co-productions. Several acclaimed films \u2014 including\u00a0<em>The Lunchbox<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Dum Lagake Haisha<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Newton<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Schirkoa: In Lies We Trust<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Girls Will Be Girls<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>In the Belly of a Tiger<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 have been associated with Waves Film Bazaar, reflecting its impact on shaping global cinema.<\/p>\n<p>For the\u00a0<strong>2025 edition<\/strong>, Waves Film Bazaar will award a total of\u00a0<strong>$20,000 in cash grants<\/strong>\u00a0to three winning projects. The\u00a0<strong>First Prize of $10,000<\/strong>\u00a0will go to a Feature project, while the\u00a0<strong>Second Prize of $5,000<\/strong>\u00a0will also recognize another Feature. In addition, a\u00a0<strong>Special Cash Grant of $5,000<\/strong>\u00a0will be awarded to a Documentary project, providing crucial development funding for filmmakers to advance their creative vision.<\/p>\n<p>This cash grant initiative, launched in 2024, has already helped promising filmmakers. In the previous edition,\u00a0<em>Kurinji (The Disappearing Flower)<\/em>\u00a0directed by Payal Sethi won the First Prize;\u00a0<em>Kothiyan \u2013 Fishers of Men<\/em>\u00a0directed by Sanju Surendran and produced by Pramod Sankar won the Second Prize; while\u00a0<em>All Ten Heads of Ravana<\/em>\u00a0directed by Pranjal Dua and produced by Bich-Quan Tran secured the Third Prize.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>submission deadline<\/strong>\u00a0for Feature film projects is\u00a0<strong>September 7, 2025<\/strong>, while Documentary project submissions close on\u00a0<strong>September 13, 2025<\/strong>. Selected filmmakers will gain invaluable opportunities to engage with producers, distributors, sales agents, and financiers, paving the way for meaningful collaboration and co-production deals.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the Co-Production Market, Waves Film Bazaar offers a wide range of activities such as\u00a0<strong>Market Screenings<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>Viewing Room<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 a video library showcasing about 200 new and unseen Indian and South Asian films \u2014 as well as industry-focused events like the\u00a0<strong>Work-In-Progress Lab<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Knowledge Series<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Producer\u2019s Workshop<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Country Pavilions<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Market Stalls<\/strong>.
