\n<\/span><\/b>Ropar \/ Chandigarh\u00a0 (\u00a0 Justice News\u00a0 \u00a0)\u00a0 <\/b>The 3rd International Conference on Agriculture-Centric Computation (ICA 2025) was inaugurated on 14 May at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. The conference brings together global experts, researchers, and policymakers to explore how emerging computational technologies can revolutionize agriculture. Jointly organized by IIT Ropar iHub – AWaDH, IIT Ropar\u00a0ANNAM.AI<\/a>, IIT Guwahati and NIT Arunachal Pradesh, reinforcing the national commitment to promoting AI-powered agriculture and sustainable innovation.<\/p>\n

Shri Dr. Numal Momin, Hon\u2019ble Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Dr. Momin emphasized the importance of technology-led agriculture for boosting rural livelihoods, food security, and regional development. Representing IIT Ropar, Mr. Mukesh Saini actively contributed to discussions on scaling grassroots innovations and fostering collaborative networks for agricultural technology deployment.<\/p>\n

The event saw participation from over 65 attendees, including researchers, professors, and farmers, with 35 paper and 5 poster presentations showcasing advancements in AI, IoT, precision farming, and sustainable agri-tech solutions.<\/p>\n

Session 1, chaired by Dr. Swati Shukla (VIT-AP University) and Dr. Anamika Yadav (IIT Guwahati), featured keynotes by Prof. Tom\u00e1s Norton (KU Leuven, Belgium) on next-gen digital farming systems and Prof. Danilo Demarchi (Politecnico di Torino, Italy) on IoT and microelectronics in precision agriculture.<\/p>\n

Session 2, chaired by Prof. Ram Prakash Sharma (NIT Arunachal Pradesh), included invited talks by Prof. Kavya Dashhera (IIIT Delhi) and Dr. Bala Natarajan (Kansas State University, USA), who joined virtually. The day concluded with a panel discussion on “From Lab to Land: Translating Agri-Tech Innovations,” moderated by Prof. Pabban, with participation from key experts and institutions.<\/p>\n

ICA 2025 will continue over the next two days with further technical sessions. Accepted papers will be published in Springer CCIS.
