{"id":14420,"date":"2025-03-20T19:26:59","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T13:56:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=14420"},"modified":"2025-03-20T19:26:59","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T13:56:59","slug":"womens-commission-chairperson-and-special-dgp-address-womens-grievances-at-lok-adalat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/justicenews.in\/?p=14420","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Commission Chairperson and Special DGP address women\u2019s grievances at Lok Adalat\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">Ludhiana, ( Gurvinder sidhu)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Punjab State Women\u2019s Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill, along with Special DGP of Community Affairs Division and Women Affairs Gurpreet Kaur Deo, listened to women\u2019s grievances during a Lok Adalat held at the Police Lines.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">During this Lok Adalat, Chairperson Raj Lali Gill and Special DGP Gurpreet Kaur Deo gave attentive hearing to complaints related to domestic violence, family disputes, dowry, and more. The event received an overwhelming response, with over 60 women attending, and many complaints of the immediate nature were resolved on the spot.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Senior police officers, including DCP Rupinder Singh and others, were present to provide on-the-spot resolutions and guidance to the complainants.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Addressing the media, the Chairperson stated that this initiative aims to protect women\u2019s rights and offer them a platform for the swift resolution of their concerns. She emphasized that the Punjab government is dedicated to safeguarding women from crimes and any form of exploitation. Additionally, she mentioned that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working diligently to address women\u2019s issues and challenges.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Special DGP Gurpreet Kaur Deo also noted that similar Lok Adalats will be held in every district of the state, with efforts made to raise awareness so that as many women as possible can benefit from these initiatives.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Later, both the Chairperson and Special DGP launched the second phase of the \u2018Sanjh Rahat Project\u2019, aimed at supporting victims of domestic violence, in the emergency ward of the civil hospital. At the Sanjh Rahat center in the ward, two counsellors and two women police officials have been assigned to provide support and counselling to domestic violence victims seeking assistance.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The project focuses on empowering women affected by domestic violence by offering essential psycho-social and legal support to help them lead violence-free lives.
